Don't stay in expensive hotels, try guesthouses, hostels ect. Don't try and eat like you do at home. Take the national railways or the bus, travel in Asia. It can be so inexpensive it's amazing. Right now I'm sitting in a nice hotel on a beach south of Hua Hin in Thailand that's barely costing me $30 a night and that's on the high side for this trip. Had a great place in Siem Reap for less than $25 and there are decent places for much less. Even Russia can be affordable if you do a bit of research same for Mongolia, Eastern Europe, Moldova, Transnistria you name it. The experiences are unforgettable

Just get out of the house, take that first step, it's easier and much less expensive than you think.
