Three types of mental states:
- Distracted
- Flow
- Present

State #1 is what happens when dopamine is low and/or stress is high. Cannot focus.

It is characterized by being IN YOUR HEAD

State #2 is what happens when you're engaged in a task. You become one with it. High focus.

It is characterized by being IN THE WORLD

State #3 is what happens when you are detached. Your mind is calm and observant.

It is characterized by being IN YOUR BODY

State #1 is high energy usage, but often ineffective and rarely feels good. At it's best this is brainstorming, worst, thought loops.

State #2 is high energy usage but highly effective. Feels good but exhausting. This is how you get important deep work done.

State #3 is low energy. This is zen-state. Piercing eye contact but without force of #2. This should be your default state for peace.
